St. Vincent's Beach is the premier spot to see whales frolicking close to shore. Approximately 7000 to 8000 tourists visit the beach each summer to watch these wondrous creatures. Don't forget to visit our Interpreation centre. We have a gift shop and cafe with traditional foods.
Some Information about our organization
Holyrood Pond Development Inc. is a volunteer not for profit organization covering the area from Peter's River to Riverhead, St. Mary's Bay. Our mandate is to develop a long term sustainable plan for the Holyrood Pond site. This site is quite active especially during the tourist season. Numerous whales can be viewed near the shore at St. Vincent's Beach. The whales chase capelin to shore and provide a spectacular showing, starting the month of May and continuing most of the summer.
Holyrood Pond Interpretation Centre is located near St. Vincent's beach and provides information on the various species of fish that are found in Holyrood Pond. It also houses a gift shop and the Whale's Tail Cafe where you can get a lunch or a snack each day during the summer season.
